Getting out and about

Thanks to Miranda and Micheal for inviting us for dinner today. We really enjoyed it. We don't usually get a lot of invites. So it feels good to get out and hang out. It looked like Ethan liked his gift, and I'm so glad. I really enjoy just sitting back and watching him. You learn so much from him. He is a very fascinating child. We really care for him. He is such a joy. And how smart he is, is so amazing. But thank you guys for the invite, we really loved the soup, and spending time with you all. Now all I need in return is the recipe in detail please, Thanks.

Happy Holidays!!

The Bice Family would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We Love you all!

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns to be confidence.
If a child lives with praise, he learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.
If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,
He learns to find love in the world.

We're Moving!!

We finally got the key to the house! The house is in Lenoir City. In case you are not familiar with the area. You get on I-40w and keep going. We will be moving over Christmas break. That way when school starts back in Jan. they will already be enrolled. The house is 3 bedroom. It has 15 acres of land. It needs a lot of work, but I think we can handle it. I hope every thing works out. We will be out of here By Jan 1. We have a lot to do over the next couple of weeks. I will keep you updated.

A Night of Miracles

What if the Internal Revenue Service decided that all adults should be required to return to their hometowns to pay taxes? We would call it unreasonable, at best. In a similar vein, I'm sure Mary and Joseph grumbled as they made their way to Bethlehem. The road was difficult; they were tired; they had left behind in Nazareth all that was familiar. Their future was uncertain; they were poor and inexperienced when it came to marriage and parenting. Where would they stay in Bethlehem? How long would they have to be there? Every step toward the future brought anxiety.

But there was good news to come. God was quietly working through them for the redemption of the whole world. We know that now; they didn't know that then. They had to trust.

There is good news for us as well. For most people, whether the change is huge or small, we don't like it. But in the midst of change and chaos, God is at work for our growth and individual life- for us as individuals, as families, as a church, and as the whole human race. In this season of miracles, God asks us to do one thing: TRUST

PRAYER: God of all miracles, help us to trust you when life is uncertain. Open our eyes to see your redemption unfolding. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of it. AMEN

Thought for the day: Where can I find good news that makes me grumble?

My boss Mo handed me a piece of paper today and this is what it read and I just thought I would share it with you all.

Sick Child

We woke up this morning to, Bailey complaining that his belly was hurting. I told him to go see if he needed to go to the bathroom or something. Well Daniel took Keaton on to school. And I thought I'll wait an hour or so and see how Bailey is doing then I'll take him on to school. Well little did I know it was something more than a little belly ache. He started vomiting around 9:00am and it has went on all day long. He's now asleep. Thank God he can rest for awhile. He has these little red blotches all around his mouth and on his face where he has been straining so hard. I feel so bad for him. I hate when my kids are sick. I feel like there's nothing I can do to make it go away faster. He told me this morning; Please take me to the doctor so they can give me a shot to make this go away. I told him it's not that easy. Especially when you call and tell them your child is sick and they say they are booked solid for the day. It seems to me every time that I have had to stay out of work, the doctor's office can never see you that same day. My question is why have a doctor, when you can only get an appointment if your not sick??

Thoughtful

I just wanted to say THANKS to Miranda and Michael for being so thoughtful. Michael bought Miranda a new camera for her b-day and they gave me their old one(my new one). I am very thankful to them. When Christmas comes I can finally take pictures of my boys opening their gifts. And just take pictures all the time, of every moment as they grow. Thank you guys for thinking of me and for being so thoughtful.

BIRTHDAY

Today is Rannie's birthday! Happy Birthday Rannie!! Now with you and Kevin 30, I'm glad I'm not the only one anymore. We hope you had a great b-day. I'm sure Micheal and Ethan made it very special for you. Again, Happy Birthday!!

The Nativity Pageant Of Knoxville

I saw a commercial for this. It looks interesting. I would really like to take the kids to this, to show them the story of Jesus. I really don't know how to explain a lot of things about Jesus when they ask, and maybe this Nativity Pageant can teach them the story of Jesus. If anyone would like to go with us please let me know. It says on the web site that it is FREE. You just have to arrive early to get good seats. You can check it out yourself. www.knoxville coliseum.com (2008 nativity pageant) The times are Sunday December 14th @ 3:00, Monday December 15th @ 7:30, Tuesday December 16th @ 7:30. We will probably be going to the Sunday show. It last about an hour. It has a cast of 90 people, live animals, 200 voice choir and a 20 member orchestra. I don't know a lot about Jesus and maybe this can teach my family. We would really like for some of you to come with us.

In Need Of A Change

Just to let everyone know that we went to look at a house Saturday. It has 3 bedrooms and 1 full bath 2 half bath, living room, kitchen, den with a fireplace, detached garage, and now for the good part: 15 acres of land. You should see it! It's an older house of course, but it is nice to us. You can sit on the front or back porch and see nothing but a beautiful view, of woods and mountains. We could play our stereo as loud as we wanted and no one could hear. I hope we get it. If we do, we will probably move in Jan. the 15. So all you movers out there we'll see you then!! Wish us Luck.
